New dates available for Practical Skills for Managers Programme

As an organisation we want to invest in our managers to be the best that they can be and to lead the Coventry Way. To enable this we recently launched the first programme of its kind at Coventry University Group: Practical Skills for Managers. This modular programme is aimed at those that lead others and/or manage managers and will run several times a year. The aim of this Group wide programme is to help our managers develop the core skills set out in the Leadership Framework.

Cycle 2 dates were released in December 2019 and modules will start in February 2020. You can find out more about the programme here and book sessions through the course booking system here by searching for ‘Practical Skills’.

Assessment & Feedback Series

The first series of workshops on Assessment and Feedback Practices in Higher Education took place over the last semester. More than 120 colleagues attended these events, 65 in the face-to-face sessions and 61 in the webinars. These were very well received.

I very much enjoyed the session on 'Exam Alternatives - What are the alternatives' and found it very useful for further contemplation on the subject. This information provided a good base for us to build on existing knowledge.

Rija Bobby | Lecturer in Adult Nursing

The workshops are running again and everyone is welcome to come either to the f2f or to the online sessions.

Congratulations to the PGCAPHE in Oman

Huge congratulations to our 20 (needs confirmation) recent graduates from the PGCert Academic Practice in Higher Education In December 2019. This is our international cohort in the Middle East Colleague (MEC) in Muscat. Our lovely students have just joined the group of Fellows of HEA. We got very kind messages from our graduates:

Thanks to Hannelie, Luis, Dhivya & team and all the colleagues in this group for making the program a great success. Thanks to the MEC management for giving us a wonderful chance to refresh our knowledge.

Great thanks to Hannelie and all the organisers of PGCert from MEC and CU for the wonderful opportunity you gave to us and congratulations to all my colleagues.
