Elisa's undergraduate studies in psychology stressed the importance of sound cognitive and emotional development in young people. The prospect of facilitating this in students was what drew her to the teaching profession. Our course appealed to Elisa as we offer subjects and a course structure that reflected her values and enabled her to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to foster development in the classroom. Did you know? When on placement during our Master of Teaching courses, our teacher candidates are supported by a large network of professionals, including: Mentor Teacher - Classroom practitioners assigned to look after you while on placement. You'll observe their classes, work on lesson plans with them, and eventually be ready to teach their classes independently. Clinical Specialist - An MGSE academic who provides the key link between theory, coursework and practice. Clinical specialists observe teacher candidates on placement, and you can approach them with any issues or challenges you may be experiencing. Teaching Fellow - A school based teacher or early childhood professional who mentors and oversees in-school experiences. Your Teaching Fellow will also observe you on placement and is another go-to for placement related advice or assistance.
