There is a lot happening in Greater Des Moines.
Here is a sampling of our recent economic development successes:
Cognizant Technology Solutions plans to add 1,014 jobs in Des Moines and to lease more than 100,000 square feet of office space. The project, expected to result in a $25 million capital investment, was awarded financial assistance from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).
Scientific Games Corporation plans to add 20 jobs, including 13 software and analytic engineering positions, in Des Moines. The company was awarded assistance from the IEDA.
The following clients of Square One DSM, which consults with startup companies to help develop and expand the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Greater Des Moines, received awards from the IEDA:
- My Diabetes Home received a proof of commercial relevance grant.
- ClinicNote received an award to help achieve customer and revenue goals.
- AgriSync received an innovation acceleration launch loan to help achieve customer goals.
The CEOs for Cities National Workshop will come to Downtown Des Moines on June 26-28 to connect leaders and emerging leaders from around the country. The workshop will explore how cities and regions seize unique opportunities and connect and collaborate across sectors, disciplines, generations and borders to make bold investments in their future. Iowa Events Center Convention Hotel
Area leaders officially broke ground on the Iowa Events Center Hotel in May. The project will result in a 330-room hotel connected to the Iowa Events Center in Downtown Des Moines. The hotel will be operated by Hilton Hotels and is scheduled to open in 2018.
