Pet Costume Contest

Extension Granted!

It looked like we'd run out of time in our bid to have a No Kill Kentucky license plate put into production. It appeared we would not have the 900 applications and fees needed by our October deadline. But, due to the state's own efforts to create an all online program for license plates - we have been given another 12 to 18 months to complete our work.

Unfortunately, we're not even a third of the way to our goal. We realize you won't receive your plate until the program is established which is why some have waited.  But, imagine someday telling your friends and family YOU were among those that made a No Kill Kentucky possible.

We came so close to failing at this effort but a lucky break is giving us a second chance. Please help us make it a success. Sign up for a plate today, tell others about our effort, and help us work toward a No Kill Kentucky.

Volunteer of the Month

lunte

Kathy is our volunteer of the month for October! Kathy started helping out at our Pet Food Bank in July 2011 and has been lending a hand nearly every Saturday since.

She also helps with pet food pick-ups at local stores, baked cookies for our spay/neuter fundrasier, and helped us move to our current location. When asked why she gives so much of her time, she said the following:

I feel I am making a difference and helping people retain their pets so we can keep them out of shelters and providing assistance to people in getting their pets spayed and neutered, which also helps keep pets out of the shelters."

Thank you for all you do, Kathy! It's volunteers like you that make it possible for us to help people and their pets.
