Venture Arts Artist Barry Finan at Major UK Ceramics Festival

British Ceramics Biennial (BCB) has selected Manchester artist Barry Finan for its headline exhibition AWARD 2019, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this month in Stoke-on-Trent. Finan will be exhibiting amongst ten of the UK’s most talented ceramicists with a chance to win the £10,000 prize. Barry Finan has been practising for over ten years at Manchester’s Venture Arts, which supports learning disabled artists to develop and showcase new art.

Paulina Peavy (1901–1999) painted while wearing a mask and served as a channel for a being she described as her personal “UFO,” a highly evolved teacher from the future named Lacamo. In "Paulina Peavy/Lacamo: They Call us Unidentified", curated by Bill Arning, Andrew Edlin Gallery will feature multilayered paintings in which abstract motifs resolve into mystic figures.

Folk Art Explorers: Trip to Memphis

The Folk Art Explorers are offering a trip to Memphis, Tennessee, in October: four days and three nights of self-taught and folk art environments, museums, private collection tours, fine dining, music and American history.
