Study: Transgender and Cisgender Children are Similar

Transgender children tend to choose toys, clothes, and playmates that align with their gender identity, not their assigned gender at birth, according to a recent PNAS study. 

In addition, the researchers found that transgender and cisgender children share some similarities in their gender development.

The findings are based on interviews with over 800 children and their parents. The children's ages ranged from 3 to 12.
