Invitation to EUPAVE Best Pratices workshop, 18 March 2020

Tuesday, 18 March 2020 from 13:00 till 18:30
Hôtel Le Châtelain, Rue du Châtelain 17, 1040 Brussels

Various topics will be discussed over the day starting with Concrete Pavement Preservation Strategies and Road Condition Assessment, continuing with different Repair Techniques for concrete slabs and CRCP. Finally some innovative developments in concrete preservation will be presented:  the use of self-healing concrete and multi-crystalline technologies.

This workshop is intended for experts coming from Road Agencies, Engineering Bureaus, Contractors… who have an interest in the management and preservation of concrete pavements. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange and discuss the specific aspects, challenges and difficulties experienced in that field.

The event is free for EUPAVE Members and Partners. For external participants, the registration will be confirmed upon receipt of the EUR 150 (excl. VAT). An invoice will be sent to you shortly after registration.

In response to the release of the European Green Deal on 11 December 2019, EUPAVE published its latest position paper "The European Green Deal and the role of concrete pavements in the new start mobility"

EUPAVE is committed to a cleaner environment where more sustainable infrastructures play an important role. This was once again shown during our latest discussion at the European Parliament where private stakeholders, the European Commission and the European Parliament engaged in a discussion on sustainable roads towards 2050 carbon neutrality.

EUPAVE's Infographic was published as cover of the latest issue of "Cement and Concrete World", a magazine created by the Turkish Cement Manufacturers' Association.

Permeable Concrete Solution for Flooded Roads in Turkey

Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association (TRMCA) in urban areas with increased rainfall, drew attention to the importance of the use of permeable concrete. Emphasizing that floods have been experienced as a result of excessive rainfall in recent years, Yavuz Işık, President-THBB and European Ready-Mixed Concrete Association (ERMCO) stated that permeable concrete helps to protect underground water level by allowing rain and surface runoff to reduce groundwater risks and reduce flood risks. He added that permeable concrete prevents runoff of surface pollutants, curtailing soil erosion.
