Message from the President for Law Society Members and Law Mutual (WA) Insureds

 
 

Dear Members

Following the State Government's announcement yesterday evening of a lockdown commencing at 12:01am today, the Law Society and Law Mutual (WA) offices will be closed for the period of the lockdown. The Law Society and Law Mutual (WA) will continue to operate business as usual, with staff working remotely from home during the Society's business hours from 9.00am to 4.00pm. Staff are still receiving your calls, however, if you are unable to speak directly to someone, please leave a message and they will respond promptly.

All Committees, our CPD and Risk Management programmes will continue as planned, and will be delivered via Zoom. Any changes will be communicated to attendees.

Membership Renewal

Membership Renewals are still in progress for the 2021/22 membership year and Member Services are available to assist with your renewal and membership queries.

If you pay for your own membership, you can renew online by logging in to members.lawsocietywa.asn.au and clicking on the ‘payment details’ icon. Alternatively an invoice has been emailed to you, with options to pay by EFT, credit card or cheque.

If your membership is organised by your current employer, an invoice for your renewal has been provided to them. You can log in to your member portal at any time to ensure your contact details and mailing preferences are up to date.

For assistance with your membership, contact Member Services on (08) 9324 8692 or email membership@lawsocietywa.asn.au. 

As we are experiencing a high volume of calls at the moment, there may be delays in responding to your call, so we thank you for your patience in advance.

Important Announcements from the Courts

Please see the latest general direction here from the Hon Justice Peter Quinlan, Chief Justice of Western Australia issued on 28 June 2021.

The admission ceremonies scheduled to take place on Friday, 2 July 2021 have been deferred to 6 August 2021. The Supreme Court will contact all applicants for admission by email with more information.
