Imvexxy Approved for Painful Intercourse

Imvexxy, a prescription vaginal insert, could help postmenopausal women who experience sexual pain.

The drug was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in May.

Painful intercourse is a common problem for post-menopausal women. The hormone estrogen keeps vaginal tissue flexible and lubricated. When estrogen levels drop at menopause, the vagina can become brittle and dry, making sex uncomfortable.

Effects of Prostate Cancer May Have "Reciprocal" Relationship

The emotional and physical effects of prostate cancer might fuel each other in a "reciprocal" relationship, according to a recent report in the Journal of Urology.

In a study of over 1,100 men with prostate cancer, scientists found that men with worse bowel, urinary, and sexual function after treatment tended to feel more emotional distress.

The reverse was also true. Those who felt more distress were more likely to have trouble with bowel, urinary, and sexual function.
