We’re back in the garage, fresh from another Saturday at the track with our mates and the Porsche Club of New South Wales, and it’s time to chat about another massive month for Autohaus Hamilton Service!
As always, we’ve been busy making Porsche ownership the rewarding and fun experience it should be, keeping Porsches running their best, and building better, faster, more fun, more comfortable, or even just more personal machines.
Our latest project is the beautiful green ’73 RS Replica you see above. It began its journey as one of the most detailed and accurate RS replicas we’ve ever built, and is now being transformed from a serious tarmac rally car to a comfortable and spirited road machine. We’ve removed its roll cage and are preparing it for a full respray and it’s looking to become a lovely place to be, as well as a zesty and fun little machine.
In motorsport news, Shane Smollen collected his maiden Carrera Cup Elite Class round victory at Barbagallo early in the month. He put in a consistently fast and mature performance over the course of the weekend to squeak by pointy-end stalwart James Koundouris by just one point. A few weeks later he followed it up with second in Elite at Phillip Island, putting him in a great place going in to Townsville and Bathurst in the coming months.
Jeff David and Grant Geelan unleashed their new rally monster upon the world two weeks ago at Rally Queensland, and finished third outright after some initial teething troubles. This magnificent machine is truly something special and we’ll have much more on it soon, so stay tuned!
Finally, we had a fun, if a little soggy, day at Wakefield Park this past Saturday. A great group of guys came down to take over an entire section of Wakefield Park’s garages, chat about life, Porsches and everything and have some fun around a very slippery circuit. Congratulations to the boys on some excellent times, especially in the tricky conditions, and thanks for a fun day!
