Coronavirus: 5 tips for Social Clubs Hey there, As there’s been a lot in the news recently about Coronavirus, we wanted to get in touch to highlight the implications the outbreak may have for you and your older neighbours at Social Clubs. We want to emphasise that we’re absolutely still operating all our programmes as normal – at times like this, it’s as important as ever to help keep our community connected. But we still thought it would be helpful to share some tips to ensure we’re all taking sensible precautions. So for everyone joining our Social Clubs, please: 1. Wash your hands with soap and hot water or hand sanitiser before you travel to a Social Club, on arrival at the club and again before you leave. 2. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze. 3. Stay at home if you feel unwell – though please still give us as much notice as possible if you’re no longer able to make a Social Club. 4. If a neighbour at a club mentions to you that they’re worried about the virus or are concerned they may have symptoms, let a member of the South London Cares team know. 5. Reassure any neighbours who mention anxiety around Coronavirus that they can contact the NHS on 111 for advice. If you’d like any further information, you can also check out the NHS guidance here. Thank you, as ever, for all you do to support your neighbours and your community, particularly at this time of challenge and change. Matt and the South London Cares team |
