Reminder: Pitt Pantry Offering Critical Resources
Pitt affiliates impacted by the recent disruption in SNAP benefit disbursements are encouraged to utilize available campus and community resources, including the Pitt Pantry and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The Pitt Pantry will continue operating on its regular fall semester schedule and is closely monitoring inventory in anticipation of increased demand. All students (graduate and undergraduate), faculty, and staff are welcome to visit the Pantry to supplement their nutrition with healthy, no-cost food options.
Additionally, students are encouraged to contact the Care and Resource Support Office for assistance in accessing additional resources. This office is dedicated to addressing a wide range of student needs and connecting students with appropriate support services.

the Center for Children and Families at Florida International University conducts the Children's Summer Treatment Program (STP) for children with ADHD and related impairments. The program was founded by Dr. William E. Pelham, Jr., and has been conducted for more than 40 years. Positions are available for students who are interested in working with children in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Elementary age groups. Positions are paid, starting at $15/hr.
Below is a brief description of the available positions in the STP. We hope that you will encourage interested students to apply. UCLA Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference
Applications for the 2026 UCLA Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference (PURC) are now being accepted! The application period will close on Monday, March 2rd, 2026 at 11:59PM PST.
PURC was created in 1992 by UCLA’s Dr. Elizabeth Bjork with the objective of creating opportunities for undergraduate research assistants to develop their presentation skills and share their research efforts with their peers and colleagues during a day-long event. In addition to fostering undergraduate professionalism, PURC has proven to be a meaningful and exciting forum for students from universities throughout the nation to communicate their research activities with one another. This is also a great opportunity to network and make connections with UCLA faculty!
The conference will be on Friday, May 8th, 2026 in Pritzker Hall at UCLA and will showcase undergraduate psychology research projects through poster sessions and 5-minute data blitz sessions. We are looking for high-quality abstracts written by undergraduate researchers. The application and more details are available at https://www.psych.ucla.edu/undergraduate/special-programs-and-events/purc/applying-to-purc/. Make sure to speak to your faculty mentor and/or graduate student advisor soon about submitting an abstract for this year’s conference!
Please read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) or email purc@psych.ucla.edu with any questions.”

Giving a Boost, Pitt Med Student Mentorship Program
As part of our work, we run a free, student-led mentorship program that connects current premed students with Pitt Med student mentors. We understand how stressful and overwhelming this process can be, and our goal is to ease that burden by offering timely, personalized advice from students who have recently gone through it.
When students sign up, they’ll be matched with a mentor who shares similar experiences or interests. Mentors can help with reviewing applications, navigating secondaries, preparing for interviews, and more. We also host weekly office hours where students can join and have any of their questions answered by current PittMed students (including how to prepare for the application throughout undergrad, MCAT, the application process, interviews, and anything else they may have questions on!).
If your students are interested in signing up for 1-on-1 mentoring or attending our office hours, they can fill out this form:
1-on-1 mentor signup: Mentee signup
Office hours: Office hour mailing list

Research Associate
The YR2 Lab is hiring a full-time Research Associate to start as early as August 2025. See additional details below. Please email glennlab@odu.edu with questions.
The ODU Research Foundation is seeking a Research Associate to perform work under the Youth Risk & Resilience Laboratory (Director: Dr. Cassie Glenn) at Old Dominion University. The Research Associate will assist with several multi-site projects (funded by the National Institute of Mental Health) focused on understanding short-term risk and treatment for suicidal thoughts and behaviors in youth. For these projects, preadolescents and adolescents will be recruited following discharge from acute psychiatric hospitalization for suicide risk. In several projects (R01MH124899; R21MH135493; R01MH137793), youth and their caregivers will complete daily smartphone-based surveys (ecological momentary assessment) and youth also will wear a Fitbit-like device to measure sleep patterns for four weeks. One study also involves assessment of social media use (R21MH135493). In another project,
adolescents will complete a brief (6-week) digital version of cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (dCBT-I), along with intensive longitudinal assessments (ecological momentary assessment via smartphone and Fitbit-like device to measure sleep).
See this website for more information and to apply.
