The Climbing Stewardship program helps educate people on and off the walls! From sharing Leave No Trace principles for the vertical environment, to restoration work on access trails for climbing areas, to safety-related training opportunities.

Celebrate Climbing History
|
Despite rock-climbing’s long history and popularity in the park, Yosemite offers limited opportunities to learn about the sport. This year with donor support, the Conservancy is funding a feasibility study for creating climbing-focused exhibits in Yosemite Valley to expand educational opportunities for visitors.

Restore Yosemite Valley Vistas
|
In 1864, Yosemite Valley’s majestic views helped spur the nation’s first public lands legislation. Today, park crews are working to restore these inspiring historical views, many of which have become obscured as conifers have moved in or drought and bark beetles have ravaged trees.
