A Resilient Theology

Recently, Kirsty Bucknell, an organisational psychologist and doctoral student at Macquarie University, released some of her and her colleagues’ research on resilience. They surveyed 277 ‘ministry workers’ measuring the relationship between self-reflection, insight, ruminations, resilience and well-being.

Adelaide Congress Request

The Adelaide Congress community has requested Uniting Church congregations to actively participate in Covenanting by supporting Adelaide Congress as they minister to and welcome Aṉangu people arriving in Adelaide often during vulnerable times.

Mental Health Symposium

This event aims to raise awareness of mental health issues amongst people in the mental health space, including the general public and faith leaders; and how services can respond to the needs of CALD communities; how COVID has affected mental health; and how mental health will change after COVID.

Prayer Points

This week we pray for:

  • For peace with creation, with each other and in our global community
  • For those who are damaged by war, political unrest and trauma may they know welcome, healing and justice
  • For those engaged in acts of care and compassion for the most vulnerable in our community at this time.

Reflection

There is an extremely powerful force that, so far, science has not found a formal explanation to. It is a force that includes and governs all others, and is even behind any phenomenon operating in the universe and has not yet been identified by us. This universal force is LOVE.
