Since November, thirty infections of the same strain of Listeria have been reported in Germany, two in Austria and one in Denmark. Smoked fish is being investigated as the source.

5. Guidelines for Listeria in frozen vegetables issued following outbreak

Guidelines have been published for controlling Listeria monocytogenes during frozen vegetable production; this follows an outbreak that sickened at least 54 people in Australia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, and the United Kingdom.

8. Pork production in the Philippines won't recover from ASF until 2030

A study shows that pork was the main meat category in the Philippines until 2019 when ASF reduced supply and led to higher prices. To counteract the affect, a restructure is expected in its production capacity over the next five years.

9. Compressed carbon dioxide as a nut decontamination?

Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Environment, Safety, and Energy Technology UMSICHT have developed a process to kill germs on almonds and nuts by using compressed carbon, with the method helping almonds retain their characteristic flavour and quality.
