It is well known that traditional ways of teaching might seem boring to students if the classes include theory only. Therefore, this term we incorporated a practical activity called “Schuljäger” to intrigue and wake the interest in students. In translation from German, “Schuljäger” means a school hunter. The activity involved students to perform the tasks written fully in German on the pieces of paper handed to them.
Recently, our students covered the topic of “School activities” and in the end the game of “Schuljäger” was introduced to them and they became hunters for treasure hidden at school, which is always thrilling for the children of their age. An interesting observation was that
students were able to easily cope with the tasks and understand the context even if the guidelines contained some unfamiliar words. After the successful completion of all the tasks, students were rewarded with a pleasant treat – delicious pizza along with a movie showcase for their excellent work and effort. They all deserved it, didn’t they?
