Candidate Campaign Support

Congratulations on submitting your nomination as a candidate for the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria elections.

As a Victorian Traditional Owner, you already know the best ways to connect with your community and have your voice heard. It will be essential for you to draw on your existing networks to support you in your campaign.

To assist candidates with their campaign, the Victorian Treaty Advancement Commission (Commission) is offering a range of non-financial and financial support options. These are set out in the Campaign Support Guide you can access here.

Campaign Training

You can access free campaign training delivered by Victorian Trades Hall Council and Original Power.

This training is an opportunity for you to learn important campaigning skills from election experts. The training may help you to develop a successful campaign strategy to get your message out to community and gain votes in the election.

Resources

You can access emails sent from the Commission to candidates (including those sent prior to you nominating) here.

We have recently released templates for candidates to use to create print and social media products, you can access these materials here.

You are responsible for personalising the templates with written content and images. There is information and guidance on how to most effectively use these templates at the campaign training and in the Campaign Support Guide.

Encouraging community to enrol and vote is a critical part of campaigning and candidates are allowed to help community to enrol. Free enrolment brochures and forms are available to all candidates. Contact us to have these sent to you on 1800 TREATY (87 32 89) option 3 or email candidates@victreatyadvancement.org.au
