Raw Vision Short Film CompetitionBelow is Fred Scruton's entry into the 2019 Raw Vision short film competition. William Brady is a self-taught sculptor who works and sleeps in a converted school bus he drove from Boston to California and lived in during the 1960’s. Severely dyslexic he was dismissed from the public school system in his mid-teens. He cannot read or write, but has educated himself by listening to books on tape. Brady enjoys being immersed in nature and he sleeps in the custom skylighted sleeping loft he built in his bus— which is now parked in the backyard of the family home in rural Pennsylvania. He makes sculptures out of flat tin-plated metal sheets and welding rods that often based on sketchbooks ideas dating back for decades. Check out the rest of the short film competition entries here. |
