The Westpac Bicentennial Foundation has partnered with the University of Melbourne to offer up to four $10,000 Asian Exchange Scholarships for exchange in semester 2 2015.
To be eligible, applicants must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency and must apply for exchange to one of the following destinations:

Re-enrol now for 2015
|

Bachelor of Environments students should re-enrol now for 2015. Re-enrolment is open now and closes on Friday 12 December.
All students who are currently enrolled, or on leave of absence, and who are planning to continue their course in 2015, must re-enrol. Re-enrolment involves signing the University's Enrolment Declaration for 2015 and enrolling in subjects, or applying for leave of absence for 2015.
If you haven’t re-enrolled by Friday 12 December 2014, you will incur a $100 late re-enrolment fee and your enrolment in your course may be cancelled.

What makes a liveable, healthy and active city?
What can we learn from the experience in Vancouver to achieve better outcomes for our communities?
The City of Vancouver is consistently identified as one of the world’s most liveable cities. Beyond this it is renowned for its great urban planning and strategies that have created a ‘complete city’, not just a liveable one. MSSI, in partnership with the Heart Foundation, is hosting a public lecture with Brent Toderian, former Chief Planner for the City of Vancouver. Brent is a widely respected practitioner in advanced urbanism, city planning and urban design, this free public lecture provides an opportunity to be inspired and learn from Vancouver’s urban planning achievements.

Young Carer Bursary Programme

Are you a Young Carer?
You may be eligible to receive a bursary of $4,000, $ 6,000 or $10,000 to support your study in 2015.
This programme supports Young Carers aged 25 and under to complete their study while continuing in their caring role by reducing the financial pressures through the granting of a Young Carer Bursary.
For the purposes of this programme, young carers are young people aged from 12 to 25 who help care in families where someone has an illness, a disability, a mental health issue, an alcohol or other drug problem, or who are frail aged.

Student Competition: Career Journeys Worth Sharing

As part of a new video series Career Journeys Worth Sharing, University of Melbourne Advancement Office is on the hunt for students to interview some of our prominent alumni.
Students are asked to submit a 15 second video of them telling us who they would like to interview and why. Winners would:

2015 Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Programme

The JET Programme aims to promote mutual understanding between Japan and other nations, foster international exchange at the local level and enhance foreign language education in Japan. Two types of positions are available:

Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) - assisting with English language education in Japanese schools (teaching and Japanese experience not essential).

Co-ordinator for International Relations (CIR) - assisting in Japanese Government offices in international activities (high level Japanese language ability required).

Inflection, the MSD’s student-run journal of architecture and the built environment, invites submissions to its second issue, Projection.
If an inflection point is a moment of transition, a projection is something more dynamic. In architecture and the built environment, 'projection' has a multitude of meanings that extend through the realms of spatiality, theory and technology.
Inflection welcomes work from students, academics and professionals in any mode of expression, and offers an optional double-blind peer review process for academic pieces.

Inflection Journal is currently recruiting three dedicated deputy editors to join the Inflection editorial team for 2015.
Each deputy editor will work closely with one of Inflection's founding editors in one of the three areas of: publicity, administration or print/graphics. As part of the Inflection team you have the opportunity to shape the direction of a new and exciting journal, including developing and editing interviews, articles and graphic work for publication.

ACROSS: International Student Competition

The organising committee of the 48th ASA (ANZAScA) Conference is pleased to announce ACROSS, an International Ideas Competition for Students.
The competition aims to investigate and address the issue of environmental sustainability with specific regards to the reduction of construction and demolition waste, through the use of a new modular structural system designed to allow the possibility of adaptation and end-of-life disassembly.
The aim is to explore potential practical application and propose further development possibilities for the Absolute Joint System.
The entrant is asked to propose an application of the AJ system. The size, function, location and lifespan of the proposal is at the discretion of the entrant.
