Final Cut Pro 7 Fundamentals | 27 March – 12 April
Learn the fundamentals of editing techniques using Final Cut Pro 7, one of the world’s most popular and widely used professional editing software. Topics covered include basic set-up, preferences, capturing video and audio, editing and cutting techniques, audio editing, finishing, and exporting video. The course is run by a Metro Screen Apple Certified trainer and covers the first half of Apple’s Final Cut Pro 101 training syllabus.
Final Cut Pro 7 Intermediate | 17 April – 3 May
Taught by a Metro Screen Apple Certified trainer this course covers the second half of Apple's FCP 101 training syllabus and is designed for those with a good basic knowledge of Final Cut Pro 7. Participants will cover advanced editing functions, including titles, graphics, audio mixing, motion tools, multi-camera editing, filters, colour correction, grading and outputting formats.

Machinima
Machinima filmmakers compete on the international stage as producers announce the largest cash prize of its kind. Machinima is filmmaking in real-time, using interactive 3D environments and gaming technologies. Beginning on 30 Mar at 7pm, Machinima filmmakers from around the world will make a 3 to 5 min short film from scratch, that is: write, shoot, and edit in only 48 Hours. Tony Dyson, creator of Star Wars iconic robot R2-D2, will be heading the judging team. First Prize $3,000 and your Machinima film will be screened at the International Championships in USA. All films will be screened.

He has delivered primetime television to all the major networks including ABC, SBS, Channel 9, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic. In 2009 he won the International Digital Emmy Award for the all-media drama 'Scorched'.

Money Tree at African Film Festival
Funded by Metro Screen's First Break Program 2011, Money Tree is an animation about Solomon, a destitute African boy trapped in poverty, and his dreams of becoming rich. The film is directed by Hawanatu Bangura and will screen at the inaugural African Film Festival in Sydney on 14th April. More information here.
