Joint farewellsThe entire PWI team and friends got together this month for an emotional farewell party, as two of our longest-standing and most treasured team members officially retired from the organisation.Former CEO David Packer and Marketing Director Alison Stansfield received a host of farewell messages along with gifts and a presentation each to mark their significant contribution to the PWI.Friends and colleagues gathered at TFL in St James Park, London to share drinks, food and stories, while offering their thanks and best wishes to an incredible pair who will be well and truly missed!As David emphasised in his parting speech, their departure marks an opportunity not only to continue their great work but also to take the PWI to the next level.Call for papers: High Speed Technical seminarWe are now calling for papers for our third High Speed technical seminar taking place in The Great Hall at the University of Birmingham on 2 October 2019. The event will update delegates on the latest worldwide design and construction types for high speed railway infrastructure. If you would be interested in submitting a paper to present at the seminar, please submit a short abstract to technicaldirector@thepwi.org by 3rd June.
