SHARE | Bushfire Preparation ToolkitIt has been a terrible few months for bush fires across WA and the nation. With the ongoing impact of weather patterns and dry spells, it's important all Western Australians are equipped with the right information that could save themselves and their families. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services have developed a Bushfire Preparation Toolkit that provides prevention information relating to: - Warning systems;
- Leave early plans;
- Emergency kits; and
- Property preparation checklists.

Drowning Prevention Evidence and Evaluation Project (DEEP) Researchers Dr Justine Leavy, Gemma Crawford, Malena Della Bona and Meg Abercromby from Curtin University have recently been named to lead the Drowning Prevention Evidence and Evaluation Project (DEEP). The team specialises in drowning prevention research and evaluation specifically focusing on the Royal Life Saving of WA programs Keep Watch, the Youth Water Safety Program (previously Don’t Drink and Drown) and the new Adult Water Safety Program.
Gifted eScooters: Warning for Riders After a spike in purchases over the Christmas period, the Road Safety Commission has issued a warning for electric scooters, many of which are illegal to use on West Australian public roads and paths. Know and share the motorised scooter regulations below.
National Road Safety Week Grants 2020 The Road Safety Commission is encouraging groups and organisations to apply for a National Road Safety Week Grant of up $5000 each. This funding will be used to hold a community National Road Safety Week event, raising awareness and shining a light for safer roads across WA. Applications close Friday, 31 January 2020 at 5pm.
