September 2020!The Mentor Resource Hub (MRH) Tap into our Mentor Resource Hub (MRH) where you will find our program's extensive collection of Mentor resources, including: COVID-19 Resources for Scholars; Mentor Program Calendar; Mentor Staff and Lead Contact Info; and Scholar Internship, Job, & Scholarship Opportunities Use the password: mentors4OP to login. September Theme: Time Management & Study Strategies The theme of our September Newsletter is "Time Management & Study Strategies." As many of our students begin their semester, it is important that they have the study tools and strategies to adapt to virtual classes while we continue to shelter in place. Our Advising Team has developed a guide with effective time management and study tips for our Scholars and Mentors to refer to. These strategies include: Using Planners & Calendars, Effective Note-Taking in Class, Getting the Most From Your Lectures, Class Discussion Strategies and Studying for STEM. We encourage you to review the guide and refer to its strategies throughout the semester as you support your Scholar. September: National Hispanic Heritage Month National Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized from September 15th -October 15th each year. This month is dedicated to elevating and celebrating the different histories, cultures and achievements of people in the U.S. with lineage from Mexico, the Caribbean, Spain and Central and South America. Additionally, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico and Chile all celebrate their independence days during this month.
