1. Thousands of pigs culled in Hong Kong

The culling of 3,000 pigs in a herd has been ordered by Hong Kong authorities. African Swine Fever was found to be spreading on a single farm in Yuen Long area in the north.

2. CDC declare Listeria outbreak is over

An outbreak in the third quarter of 2020 linked to Deli Meats is over according to the CDC. 12 people were hospitalised in Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts, and New York.

3. Tap water linked to large outbreak in Greece

According to a recent research report, over 600 people became sick in Greece in 2019 with the likely source being contaminated tap water.

6. Factors behind German Listeria outbreak identified by researchers

More detail have been provided on a multi-year outbreak of Listeria linked to meat products in Germany. Twenty countries received the meat, including the United States.

7. Study to prevent E. coli outbreaks in romaine lettuce: FDA

The FDA is carrying out study by collecting romaine lettuce samples to aid in preventing a similar E. coli outbreak to the 2018 US outbreak.

8. Irish survey shows scarce contamination of dips and spreads

Over 1,000 ready-to-eat (RTE) dips and spreads were analysed in Ireland and it was found that the majority were free from contamination.
