Cabrini’s Medical Imaging Department has new and improved capability in both CT (Computed Tomography) and PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography) scanning. CT scanning in a heart beatIn line with Cabrini's continued commitment to providing outstanding service, our suite of state-of-the-art equipment has expanded with two new high-end CT scanners. The “Dual Source” CT software doubles the scan speed, particularly relevant to cardiac/coronary imaging, and incorporates organ sensitive dose reduction. The new scanners enhance Cabrini’s ability to perform CT interventional procedures and vascular scanning. PET/CT ScanningPET/CT imaging is used extensively in oncology to direct biopsy, stage disease extent and monitor response to therapy. Increasingly, PET/CT scanning is used in the diagnosis of dementia, cardiology, and for infection imaging. The new technology can provide a metabolic map of an anatomical site, which enables it to differentiate pathologies. The Cabrini PET/CT unit enables pinpoint accuracy using the lowest dose of tracer possible.
