Brisbane Festival 2016 Program has Launched!

Brisbane Festival has released a fully-loaded program that will delight and excite long into the night with eye-popping circus, incredible dance, acrobats, music, theatre and much more.

This September will be one to remember as Brisbane Festival transforms the city into Youtopia over three dazzling weeks.

Much of the program will take place in the South Bank precinct, at venues including Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery Of Modern Art, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the Cultural Forecourt and the Courier-Mail Piazza.

Foodies, get ready - Regional Flavours is coming soon!
16 & 17 July 2016

Maggie Beer, Matt Preston, George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and more - Australia's best-known chefs and cooks are heading to Brisbane! Head to the South Bank Parklands on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 July to see them whip up gourmet treats and simple, scrumptious eats at Regional Flavours presented by The Courier-Mail.

Regional Flavours is completely free to attend and includes something for all ages, including a producer market with 80 stallholders from across Queensland, live music, beer, wine, kids activities and more.

Lord Mayor's Business Awards Now Open

Nominations for the 11th annual Lord Mayor’s Business Awards are now open.

The awards play a continuing role in the evolution of Brisbane as a new world city, celebrating the achievements of Brisbane’s business community and contributions to the city’s economy.

There are 11 award categories, with eight open to businesses, two open to individuals and one outstanding category winner.

Information Session: Transport and Sustainability

BSB members are invited to an information session on transport and sustainability, which were rated among the top five most important projects/issues in the precinct, in BSB’s 2016 Annual Survey.

This information session will cover two presentations:

(1) Mater Carpooling System
      •    The Mater Carpooling System is now open to all BSB members and the wider South Bank community. Learn how to use the system and reduce your travel costs in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way.

(2) CitySmart’s ‘Live for Less’ project
      •    Get involved in this project which aims to empower the Brisbane community with tools and knowledge to make affordable, valuable choices that reduce environmental impact.

The Power of the Brand and Email Marketing

The third instalment in Business South Bank’s 2016 Professional Development series will be back-to-back sessions on branding, exploring the power of a brand and what it says about your organisation; and email marketing, a tool we all use - but how effectively?

  • Part A of the workshop will be presented by Nick Pritchard, Creative Strategist at NICK Pty Ltd
  • Part B of the workshop will be held by Lauren Duffy, Digital Marketer at Vision6.

Unbound Flute Festival at Queensland Conservatorium

From 1 - 3 July 2016, leading contemporary flutists will showcase their extraordinary abilities and share their knowledge of modern performance at the inaugural Unbound Flute Festival.

Held at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, the heart of Brisbane’s cultural precinct at South Bank, the Unbound Flute Festival will bring together some of Australia’s most experienced contemporary flute players together with some of the highest profile international artists.

The festival will provide activities for all ages and skill levels, from beginners to professionals. Each day will include concerts, workshops, masterclasses and discussion panels with local, national and international guest artists.

Celebrate French Culture at Brisbane French Festival

The Brisbane French Festival returns to Southbank’s parklands from 8 to 10 July 2016 and invites you to discover the best of French culture!

Traditionally celebrating Bastille Day, enjoy the annual gourmet fair and celebration of French heritage. From an exclusive selection of design and handicraft products, to culinary delicacies, wines and champagnes and hours of French entertainment on stage, the Brisbane French Festival plays host to Australia’s most traditional French experience.
