Perth Observatory - Star Trek Night Tour

Friday 5 April
Put on your star fleet uniform, grab your phaser and tricorder and set course to the Perth Observatory to celebrate the first contact with the Vulcans on Star Trek Day.

There will be prizes for the best adult and child costumes, so dress in your favourite Star Trek gear! There could even be a Star Trek character on site, you never can tell!! 7.30pm-9.30pm. Find out more here

Short Street Kitchen Workshop - Blueberry Masterclass

Mundaring & Hills District Museum - special Anzac Day exhibition

Saturday 20 April - Thursday 25 April
The Spanish flu of 1918-19 was the most destructive disease to strike the world at the time. 500 million people contracted the flu and it is reported that over 100 million died as a consequence, with many victims fit, young adults aged between 20 and 40. The flu easily killed more soldiers than World War 1.

Greenmount’s Blackboy Hill Training Camp played a part in the treatment of flu with c. 1600 patients quarantined at the camp between July and October 1919.

KSP Writers' Centre - ANZAC Sundowner Session

This Anzac edition of KSP’s sundowner series features special guests Valerie Everett and Paul Bridges, who will launch the second edition of Blackboy Hill is Calling, the first comprehensive history of WA’s largest WWI military training camp. The event includes a talk about camp life, and insights into the process of creating the book. Limited copies of the sold-out book, in a second reprint, will be on sale or can be ordered if stock runs out. 6.30pm-9.30pm Tickets just $5 at the door for KSP members ($10 others). Mundaring District Museum - Made in Mundaring exhibition

Throughout April
This new temporary exhibition explores the many marvellous items that have been ‘Made in Mundaring’. From the granite slabs quarried at Mahogany Creek for the Perth GPO to the beautiful stained-glass windows made in Greenmount by Gowers & Brown, the range of building materials, foods, domestic objects, artworks, and inventions made locally is extraordinary. The labour and creativity of people in the past, and in the present, is acknowledged in the array of objects displayed, and in the stories of the individuals who made them. Museum open Mon-Sat 9.30am-4pm, Sun & Public Hols 10am-2.30pm.
