Paid Student Advocacy Position with RISE

Rise is a 501(c)3 nonpartisan, nonprofit, student-led organization on a mission to build students’ political power to ensure the cost of higher education never prevents students from pursuing their dreams. We get young people to exercise their political power and co-create the change they want to see.

Rise Pennsylvania is currently hiring Field Organizers at Pitt and would love to connect some ambitious and hardworking students to a paid political organizing opportunity!

Field Organizers will be primarily responsible for nuts & bolts organizing, recruitment of Rise Supporters and Volunteers, and community (1:1) engagement. It is 15-20 hours per week at $20-$21 per hour. The tenure of the contract is from 8/12/24 - 11/5/24 (a perfect part-time job for the semester), with an opportunity for extension. Previous political organizing experience is not required and we will train you on everything you need to know. You can find a detailed FO job description and application form on our Hubspot posting here.

You likely know that young voters (18-29) have the lowest voter turnout rate yet young people ultimately decide election outcomes. You likely also know that political scientists, strategists, and campaign officials have all identified Pennsylvania to be the most crucial state in the upcoming election. That’s why we’re excited to have Field Organizers on campus educating, mobilizing, and turning out young voters to make our voices heard on election day here in PA.

Any questions should be directed to RebeccaWidener-Weston@RiseFree.org.
