Twin Cities Residential Construction Continues to Climb |
After a strong June, Twin Cities residential construction activity returned to more measured growth in July. With the help of several large multifamily projects, permitted units for the month were up 25 percent compared to July 2015. Single-family permits were up 2 percent compared to last year. |
New Laws Start in August |
The minimum hourly wage in Minnesota jumped from $9 to $9.50 for large companies and $7.25 to $7.75 for small companies on Monday. It was the final step of a three-year increase to the state's minimum wage. Starting in 2018, the wage will increase annually to match inflation.Other new laws that went into effect Monday involve the marriage wait period, body cameras, drug sentences, and more. |
