Not to mention, who let Blake Lively onto the Met Gala red carpet looking thaaat beautiful?! The sight of her reversible gown nearly gave me a heart attack. Is anyone safe anymore?... Overall, the craziest part about the Met Gala might be that the Supreme Court is literally, potentially overturning Roe v. Wade as we speak. But as Betches pointed out, you've got to admire Kim Kardashian's commitment to the theme. The last woman to wear Kim K's Met Gala dress -- Marilyn Monroe -- also had no federally protected abortion rights. Tomorrow, we'll be hosting a special episode of the "UnWrapped" podcast focused on the Roe v. Wade leak. Together, WrapWomen founder Sharon Waxman and I will be speaking with...

![]() Directors of Abortion Doc ‘The Janes’ Warn of ‘Scary’ Future if Roe v. Wade is Repealed: ‘We’re Seeing This in All its Horror’(Credit: HBO Documentary Films/ Courtesy of Sundance) Emma Pildes, the co-director of the upcoming 1970s abortion documentary “The Janes,” got a call from co-director Tia Lessin on Monday night in which she was in “floods of tears” after learning about the leaked draft Supreme Court opinion that would overturn the pivotal abortion decision Roe v. Wade. That’s because both Lessin and Pildes in making their film “The Janes” know all too well of the shocking past, often disturbing present and even scarier future for what an America would look like should Roe v. Wade officially be struck down by the court. They warn that much of what is depicted in their film from 50 years ago could come racing back, immediately threatening the health and lives of women but also laying the groundwork to potentially strip women of other rights and have numerous ripple effects. “We’ve been so steeped in the realities of what this country looks like when women don’t have a right to make this decision for themselves,” Pildes told TheWrap on Tuesday morning after reading the draft opinion. “Women do not stop getting abortions. They don’t. They never have, and they never will. They just stop getting safe abortions.” ![]() ‘A Black Lady Sketch Show’ Star Skye Townsend Wants You to Know ‘Black Women Have Range’Season 3 of “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” which premiered on April 8, features nearly 100 characters in just six episodes. 15+ of those characters are played by Townsend. Unlike other television or sketch comedy series, Townsend and her three co-stars Robin Thede, Ashley Nicole Black and Gabrielle Dennis had to audition for every existing sketch, in other words the dialogue isn’t written with a specific cast member in mind. “Before we start the season, we get the scripts, and then we break down every single character,” Townsend told WrapWomen. “In a roundtable, we read each one to see who’s [best] fit for the character… and from that we’re then assigned by the head writers.” “It’s the challenge of a lifetime,” she added. One that she prays will send a message to Hollywood. “I hope that when they see the show, they go, ‘Oh, wow, black women can have range.’ It doesn’t have to just be the stereotypical friend who’s in the corner,” said Townsend. I want [Hollywood] to see that I can be just as witty and nerdy and strange as a Mike Myers or a Jim Carrey… I hope it opens people’s minds about what it looks like to be a black female comedian, because for so many years, it was kind of the same thing. And on our show, we show this is one woman who can play 30-40-50 different characters, don’t limit her.” ![]() Megan Thee Stallion Gets Emotional Describing Her 2020 Shooting: ‘I Was Really Scared’ (Source: Getty Images via Glamour.com) Megan Thee Stallion is opening up about the 2020 shooting that left the Grammy-winner injured and traumatized. In October of that year, Tory Lanez was charged with “one felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.” He has pleaded not guilty. Now, nearly two years later, Megan Thee Stallion gave an exclusive television interview with Gayle King, which aired on CBS Mornings last week. “I was really scared because I had never been shot at before,” she told King. “It was an argument because I was ready to go and everybody else wasn’t ready to go. But that’s normal friends stuff. We fuss about silly stuff all the time,” the 27-year-old explained in the video. From there, Megan told King that “everything happened so fast” after she got out of the car. “All I hear is this man screaming. He said, ‘Dance, bitch,’ and he started shooting,” she said. “And I’m just like, ‘Oh, my God!' Like, he shot a couple of times.” ![]() Kelsie Whitmore Becomes First Woman to Start an Atlantic League Baseball Game (Source: ESPN.com) Kelsie Whitmore played left field and batted ninth for the Staten Island FerryHawks on Sunday, becoming the first woman to start a game in the Atlantic League and one of the first to do so in a league connected to Major League Baseball. The 23-year-old Whitmore cracked manager Edgardo Alfonzo's lineup for the FerryHawks' game at the Gastonia Honey Hunters. A former college softball player at Cal State Fullerton, Whitmore signed with Staten Island this month, one of several notable moments for women in baseball this season. Last month, San Francisco Giants coach Alyssa Nakken filled in as first base coach, becoming the first woman to coach on the field for a big league game. A few days before that, Rachel Balkovec won her debut managing the Low-A Tampa Tarpons in the New York Yankees' system, becoming the first woman to skipper a team affiliated with a major league club.
