Young Filmmakers Workshop | 3 – 5 July
In three days the 21 students will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking all the way from script to screen. They will each have the opportunity to write, act, shoot, light, direct, edit, add soundtrack and produce either a short film, trailer, television commercial or mockumentary.

Directing Actors Masterclass 7 - 8 July
This two-day intensive workshop explores the process of working with actors from casting to shoot. Throughout the workshop, you will look at the Director’s role and responsibility to actors and learn hints and tips on how to work with actors to tease out their best performance.

Last month, Metro Screen First Break 2011 production, Macadamia won the Award of Merit at the Best Shorts Competition in La Jolla, California. Macadamia has been accepted into The Budapest International Short Film Festival [or Busho Vision] and will be screened in Hungary in September.

Money Tree

Funded by Metro Screen's First Break Program 2011, Money Tree is an animation about Solomon, a destitute African boy trapped in poverty, and his dreams of becoming rich. The film, directed by Metro Screen Alumni Hawanatu Bangura, is going to be shown at the Open Marrickville Short Film Festival on 27 and 28 June 2012.

Time Machine Volunteer Call Out

Serial Space are looking for volunteers to assist with the production of Time Machine, a 12 day festival of experimental time-based art. This would be an incredible opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience working with an arts organisation.
