New video conferencing facilities

High-quality webcams have been installed in:

  • Peep O'Day Lane and Beef Can Close in the Main Library
  • River Rooms 1 and 2 in the Tower Building

Student desktop - a fresh start, who's taking part?

A new student desktop is coming and IT want your input. Find out more on the project blog.


 

Register for a doctor (GP) in Dundee

If you haven't done already, don't forget to register for a doctor (GP) in Dundee. Please don't wait until you are unwell!

There are several medical centres within walking distance of city campus, you can find your nearest doctors on the National Health Service (NHS) Information website. Then just go in with three forms of identification:

  • your passport or UK driving licence
  • your student ID card
  • documentation with your Dundee address on it (for example, a utility bill)

You may have to try one or two different medical centres as sometimes their lists may be full.

eVision/SITS upgrade

You will not be able to access eVision or SITS on Mon 20 & Tue 21 Nov because IT are upgrading the platform.


 

Sitting an online exam in December?

Come along and familiarise yourself with the process and software involved, so you are ready on the day.

Drop-in sessions Mon 20 & Wed 29 Nov, 1.30-4.30pm each day, Tower Basement IT Suite E. No need to book, just come along at a time that suits you.

Enquiry Centre closure (Mon 27 Nov)

The Enquiry Centre will be closed until 2pm on Mon 27 Nov for staff training.

Normal opening hours are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm (Wed 10am-5pm).

Academic Skills Quick Query Drop-In Service

Do you have an academic skills question that could be quickly answered by a tutor? If so, pop into the ASC Zone (opposite the Main Library Café) between 9-10am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.


 

Help with Excel and SPSS

Check out the new sections on the LEARN Smart toolkit, which give tips and online tutorials on using Excel and SPSS effectively.

Awarding student theatre

Congratulations to Digital Interaction Design student, Neil Lavin and Politics and International Relations graduate, James Leggat. Their theatre company, Room 29, has won a BroadwayWorld UK award.

 

 

Exponential Growth exhibition

The current exhbition in the ground floor of the Tower Building showcases work from our Graphic Design and Illustration students. They were inspired by D'Arcy Thompson's book 'On Growth and Form', which was published 100 years ago.

Act of Remembrance (Fri 10 Nov)

There will be a short act of remembrance for those killed in war, in the Chaplaincy Centre from 1.10-1.20pm on Fri 10 Nov.  All welcome.


 

Careers Service: Successful Interview Skills (Tue 14 Nov)

This session will introduce you to the interview experience, what to expect at interview and how best to present yourself, skills and attributes to selectors.

Main Library 1st floor redevelopment - official opening (Tue 21 Nov)

Our Rector, Mark Beaumont, will officially open the main library 1st floor redevelopment at 3pm Tue 21 Nov. 

All students and staff are invited to the event which will include refreshments and an opportunity to view the new, innovative and flexible study environment.
