Artisan Home Tour Brings Out the Buyers

While we’re still analyzing all the numbers, our Artisan Home Tour had a great second year. Ticket numbers showed an increase in traffic (average home visits rose from 700 in 2014 to over 900 this year), with the most visited home traffic up by 49 percent!  An exceptional media plan, tons of publicity on all four TV stations plus our new ticketing partners (Bachman’s and Patina Stores) and a lot of hard work definitely paid off!

The Workforce Squeeze

Data from the Center for Rural Policy and Development predicts that the workforce will slow to 0.1 percent growth during the 2020's. This does not paint a pretty picture for the home building industry which is already facing a workforce shortage. Read more >>


Southwest LRT Update: Minneapolis Hardball?

To save the Southwest LRT project, $341M needs to be trimmed from the budget by cutting service and amenities along the line. Cities involved include St. Louis Park, Edina, Hopkins, and Minnetonka, however, most of the conversation thus far has focused on the bookend cities of Eden Prairie and Minneapolis. While Eden Prairie has been open to cuts and adjustments, the same cannot be said for Mineapolis, at least not yet. Read more >>

A new study finds more poor living in suburbs than Twin Cities urban core, however some skeptics question the Met Council’s methodology and conclusions, noting that it uses a much higher income threshold than the Federal Government. Read more >>
