Irthlingborough Lakes and Meadows is one of the most important wetlands in England and an internationally important winter stop-over for thousands of wildfowl and waders. We have just 10 days left to raise the remaining £15,000 of our £50,000 appeal to guarantee its future as a haven for nature. Help save this special place by making a gift today.
Finished Great Fen bird hide House of straw

New bird hide at The Great Fen

500 hours of volunteer labour, a ton of locally-sourced, recycled and renewable materials, and gallons of cups of tea have resulted in a novel new bird hide in the Great Fen. It’s made of straw bales, but no amount of huffing and puffing will blow this baby down! See video of the build.
