Raw Vision Short Film CompetitionBelow is Linda Curtin's entry into the 2019 Raw Vision short film competition. The Magic of Cinema is a participatory documentary between filmmaker Linda Curtin and a number of artists with intellectual disabilities who work in a supported studio setting. As artists, their work seeks to break barriers in society and in the world of art that may exclude or limit the participation of artists who may need additional supports. The project itself is a participatory documentary that aims to explore the medium of cinema. Each participant is invited to respond through their own art form, from painting to sculpture and performance. The result is a six minute meditation on cinema.
