FACCE SURPLUS End-Term Meeting focusing on valorization

The End-Term Meeting of FACCE SURPLUS 1st call will take place in Düsseldorf from 6th to 8th November 2018. Four valorization sessions will be arranged, covering different aspects of food and non-food biomass production and transformation systems, including biorefining.

New project will develop the market for currently underutilized Cichorium biomass

A new project aims to turn underutilized Cichorium biomass streams into high value fractions, which can then be used as ingredients in a  range of applications, ranging from food and drink products over cosmetics to biomaterials.

Salty soils offers a hidden gem for biomass production

A new project will develop methods for sustainable production of halophytes species in salt-affected areas. The aim is to use the obtained biomass to produce bio-based products, energy and food/feed supplements.

• The EU Research Summer Issue 2018 includes a 3-page article on FACCE-JPI. The article focusses on the challenge of maintaining food security and agricultural productivity in the face of impacts of climate change.

Call Pre-Announcement: Novel technologies, solutions and systems to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of animal production systems

• The ERA-NETs FACCE ERA-GAS, SusAn and ICT-AGRI 2 will launch a Joint Call addressing the challenge of greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation in animal production. The call will be funded by at least 16 countries.
