SOUND DESIGN AND EDITING COURSE

This course is a brilliant way to ensure you can record, design and edit the perfect sound track to your next masterpiece. Lots of great productions are let down by poor quality sound, be the hero by recording clean dialogue, creating atmosphere and adding audio effects. During this part time short course, you will design a complete soundscape for an existing film excerpt and complete practical exercises recording sound in a variety of locations, whilst troubleshooting common problems.

FROM FCP TO AVID IN 2 DAYS

This one weekend intensive will help you migrate from FCP to AVID Media Composer in just 2 days. If you want to work in Television you need AVID. It is the industry standard for multi-camera television productions and the preferred software of professional editors. Since the introduction of the prosumer software FCP X, and the discontinuation of FCP7, semi-professional editors are also moving towards using AVID.

A Life Exposed

Jump Start recipient, Life Exposed, has been accepted into Sheffield Doc Fest’s Videotheque (the buyers market), which starts on 12th June 2013. The film is written and directed by Lesley Branagan. A half hour version of the film will be broadcast on ABC 1 on 11th June 2013 on the Artscape slot at 10pm. >More info

Money Tree at Aurora Short Film Festival

Funded by Metro Screen’s First Break Program 2011, Money Tree is an animation about Solomon, a destitute African boy trapped in poverty and his dreams of becoming rich. One day while roaming the village market he finds a coin belonging to a female shopper. >More info.

The Grand Design

The Grand Design, a short film written and directed by Samuel Bartlett as part of the Raw Nerve 2011 through Metro Screen, has been placed 3rd at the Rhode Island Encore Film Festival. The film stars Matt Doran (The Matrix) as a Metaphysics student who believes he has scientifically deciphered the concept of fate. >More info.
