This award is for Steve’s leadership in the outdoor community for many years.

This award recognises his pivotal work as an engineer, an advocate and a volunteer, supporting trail development and access projects in Northland over the last 12 years. His efforts have created opportunities for everyone to access and enjoy the natural environment. 

Herenga ā Nuku Aotearoa, the Outdoor Access Commission, hosts the Outdoor Access Champion Awards annually to recognise those who have made significant and lasting contributions to public access to the outdoors in New Zealand. These might include securing new legal access, championing public rights of access, trail building, or contributing to an understanding of access rights and responsibilities.

• Venue: Whangarei Cruising Club, 212 Riverside Drive, Parahaki, Whangārei 0110  

We will provide morning tea for the event. Please advise if you have any specific dietary requirements.
