If your data doesn't exist in 3 places, it doesn't exist.

Now, most people have their backup systems in place.

Here's mine:

I have 3 6TB drives and 2 1 TB portable USB3 drives, no RAIDs.

I take my main 6T HD (and 2 smaller back up drives) on the road . Upon returning to the office, I back up to 2 other 6T drives using Carbon Copy Cloner, which does incremental backups.

I have 3 copies of my work at home. Then I'll wipe out all cards and wipe out the smaller drives for the next trip.

Thoughts on cards:

• I only use cameras with 2 card slots, placing a 64GB card in each slot.

• I write the same data to each card, creating an instant backup system in-camera.

• I have enough cards to not have to wipe them out until backing up to hard drives.
