Twin Cities Permit Numbers Continue to Grow

The number of residential building permits pulled in September soared 14.25 percent to 601 units compared to 526 in 2016. Single-family permits rose 10 percent, with 568 permits issued, compared to 513 permits in September of 2016.

BATC recently updated nine of its 14 contracts. These updated contracts are in addition to the current Minimum Performance Standards, Standard Change Order, Time and Material Change Order, Work for Hire Agreement, and Sample CIC Maintenance Plan already available to BATC members.

Regulatory Affairs Update: State And Federal Water Rules

Last week, Housing First Minnesota submitted comments to the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers regarding the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) Rule. In its letter, Housing First Minnesota applauded the move to better define which water bodies fall under this rule and to recodify the previous WOTUS rule.

The Fall tours are complete, and from early survey respondents, a big success. So far 81.8% of Parade of Homes survey respondents said the tour was either Excellent or Good, with 55% saying this fall was better than last fall 87.5% of Remodelers Showcase survey respondents said this fall’s tour was Excellent or Good, with an average of 225 groups visiting over the three days.
