This email includes information on appointing a scrutineer for the vote counting process, how you will receive notification of the election results, the Possum Skin Cloak launch, travel reimbursement, and candidate Facebook pages. Scrutineer (observer)You may appoint a scrutineer to observe the voting process and/or the counting of the votes. You will have received a message from the Treaty Election Office on the scrutineer process including that if you would like to appoint a scrutineer you must complete a Scrutineer Appointment Form which you can access here or in your email, and send it to vtac@austelect.com. Candidates cannot be scrutineers. We do not offer funding to pay scrutineers however, you may allocate remaining balance of travel expenses to reimbursement for scrutineer travel. If you have any questions about the role of the scrutineer, please do not hesitate to contact us. You will have received a notification from the Treaty Election Office that vote counting will start on 31 October 2019. This is to provide enough time for postal ballots to be received by the Treaty Election Office. The count will conducted region by region. A reminder that the Treaty Election Office provides the official notifications regarding the counting and processing of votes, please continue to check your emails. All votes that have been submitted are held securely with 24-hour security. Notification of election resultsAs the count progresses, the Commission will be in contact with candidates as election results for each voting region become known. Possum Skin Cloak LaunchA reminder you have been invited to join the Victorian Treaty Advancement Commission, the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and community for the launch of Possum Skin Cloak: Our Treaty Journey. The Possum Skin Cloak is a culmination of artwork created by Aboriginal communities during the Victorian Treaty Advancement Commission's statewide roadshow in 2018. This living work is an artistic expression of community's Treaty aspirations and will be stored and showcased at the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre in Melbourne Museum from December 2019 until February 2020. Travel ReimbursementA reminder that you can claim travel reimbursement for properly incurred travel until 5pm 30 November 2019. To receive reimbursement, you need to send the general claim form as well as fuel or public transport receipts to candidates@victreatyadvancement.org.au. You can access the General Claim form here. Please allow around two weeks for this process. Reminder receipts must be dated within the campaign period and the Commission will only pay for travel that is covered by Candidate support including that travel is within Victoria.
