DEA Needs Your Help!

The Think Tank DEA and Spousecare are conducting the first national survey among international accompanying spouses and partners in Denmark.

The survey is made with the goal of learning more about the group of accompanying spouses who come to Denmark each year: what areas are important to address, how is life as an accompanying spouse in Denmark and what can be done to make settling in Denmark easier and better in the long run.

DEA and Spousecare would like to have as many participants as possible to take the survey so that they can compile the first qualified research study ever made in Denmark.

All participants are anonymous, unless they choose to give their email addresses.

Take the survey

If you need more information, please contact Martin Junge, DEA at mj@dea.nu

HR and IAS Welcome Packages

If you arrived recently to Denmark as a researcher, postdoc or PhD, and haven't requested one yet, it might be for your advantage to obtain the welcome packages that are relevant for you.

The HR welcome packages contain information that is relevant for all employees at Aarhus University, regardless of which AU-location the new employee is associated with.

For more information and ordering of the HR welcome package, please click here

The International Academic Staff Services (IAS) offers a welcome package for international employees with specific information regarding Aarhus. This welcome package is thus primarily relevant for residents of Aarhus.

The IAS welcome package is handed out at the International Centre (International Student and Staff Services) and is offered to all participants at the IAS welcome and orientation event "Getting Started". The welcome package can also be ordered and distributed locally.

The IAS welcome package can be ordered through webshop or by e-mailing ias@au.dk.

Test The New Welcome Pack (by Aarhus Municipality)

Aarhus Municipality launched a new and better edition of their welcome pack to international employees in Aarhus.

To get some feedback from the target group, they wish to set up a focus group interview with 10 staff memebers from Aarhus University.

To participate you should be either a PhD student, researcher or other international staff. The interviews will be held in October.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Maria Scamuzzi from Aarhus Citizens Service at masca@aarhus.dk to get more information and to sign up.

Jutland Station

Jutland Station is an online magazine aimed at expats in Aarhus and Jutland. The editors of the online magazine describe it as follows:

"With a cultural edge and an international outlook we help expats navigate through the current affairs of our little corner of the world; we open up the region with journalism. We experiment with formats, genres and the many different ways to benefit from being online – but we’re not afraid of classic long formats either. Long texts are not scary, as long as they are relevant and well written. We are thorough, and we prioritize an in depth analytical approach over breaking news and high-speed journalism. Usually, we publish new stories on Tuesdays and Fridays."

Besides encouraging readers to stay updated by reading the magazine, they also encourage contributions from readers. Read more about the magazine here, or for more information, please write to info@jutlandstation.dk
