Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder: Naltrexone Study Has Encouraging Results
Scientists have deemed naltrexone to be "feasible and tolerable" in men with compulsive sexual behavior disorder (CSBD).
Their pilot study, published online last month in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, included 20 Swedish men aged 18 to 65. All of the participants had CSBD.
The treatment period lasted four weeks, and the men were followed for another four weeks.
CSBD symptoms generally improved, and side effects were not considered serious. Further research was recommended.
