Snail baiting demonstration

Snails are proving to be a persistent pest in vineyards across the south-west. DPIRD researchers have undertaken field and laboratory experiments to demontrate the efficacy of different bait formulations and timings of applications to assist growers reviewing their own baiting strategies.

Wine tasting workshop summary

A series of regional wine tasting workshops have been completed, with over 50 producers having the opportunity to taste trials featuring Cabernet Sauvignon clones/selections, Merlot clones, Chardonnay winemaking techniques, emerging varieties and a fruit zone shading trial with Shiraz. Those who missed attending one of these workshops can read a summary of what was presented and how the different trials were received by the different groups of producers.

Subsidised SWA certification training opportunity

Via the Wine Australia Regional Program, Wines of WA is supporting up to 30 producers with subsidised registration fees to attend upcoming Sustainable Winegrowing Australia (SWA) certification training.
