Semester 2 is so close, it's almost time to organise your desk and put your game face on.

This week has been full of activity around the uni as Mid Year Orientation began with a bang! There are still two more days left, so check out the Orientation program to see what's happening.

You have a bit of time before the semester begins, so double check your enrolment, get familiar with your courses in MyUni, and enjoy the last few days of holidays.

Meet Brianna, the new face of the Adelaide Graduate Award

Brianna is a student who volunteers in the mammology department at the SA Museum.
Through the Adelaide Graduate Award, Brianna can count all her volunteering hours towards formal recognition from the University of extra-curricular activities - and you can too! Find out more.

  • Waite library begins self-service
    From Monday 29 July, you'll need your University ID card to enter the Waite campus library, however, opening hours will remain the same (weekdays 9 am to 5 pm).
    While Ask Library staff will not be located within the library, they will be available to provide assistance via
    phone, email and chat.

 
  • Roseworthy campus library - extended hours
    The Roseworthy Campus Library has listened to feedback and so will be open from 7 am to 7 pm on weekdays, beginning 29 July. You will need your ID card to access it before 9 am and after 5 pm.

  • Have your say about the Academic Honesty Policy
    Tell us what you think about the draft revision of the Academic Honesty Policy! Please email your feedback to lqseducompliance@adelaide.edu.au by 5 pm, 14 August.

    Applications now open for Pinnacle Foundation Scholarships for students aged 17-26 planning on studying full time at a public institution of higher education in Australia in 2020. Applicants must demonstrate they have been prevented or hindered from achieving their academic aspirations because of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or sexual characteristics.

    North Terrace campus - 31 July, 12 pm - 2 pm
    Roseworthy campus - 13 August, 12 pm - 1:30 pm
    Ecoversity and ConservationSA are bringing you FREE beeswax wrap workshops to finish off #PlasticFreeJuly. No registration needed, just drop in and have a go! Instructors and materials provided.

  • Walk a Mile in my Boots
    7:30 am 9 August - Hutt St Centre 
    Support Adelaide's homeless and join Walk a Mile in my Boots. Donations go towards a welcoming space for the homeless to access essential services including meals and showers. Register online or contact Tania Johnson and join the University of Adelaide team on the day - you'll receive a free KeepCup and, for new registrants, a branded beanie.

  • Photonics & Advanced Sensing Open Day
    5 pm, 8 August - The Braggs building, North Terrace campus
    If you're an undergraduate student interested in science, learn about and celebrate the fantastic research at the Institution of Photonics and Advanced Sensing - using the power of light to make the world a better place!
    With show 'n' tells about research, free pizza and tours of the labs, get a feel for the industry in what's sure to be a great night.

     

 

Careers & employment

The Adelaide University Union advertises part time work for current students on the paid vacancies page from Employment Services.

Career Services are free for all students. CareerHub features a jobs board of opportunities related to your studies including paid work experience and graduate roles. The Careers team also run employer events and workshops to increase employability, build resumes, improve your interview skills and more.
