Further resources

We covered a few topics, so I’ve gathered some links here. If you have other examples, please send them to me.

Information on reserve management plans

Reserve plans are publicly notified by the reserve administering body, such as Council or DOC.

Legislation for management plans

Each council has its own reserve management plan review process, so check your council’s website in the first instance. Some examples:

  • Marlborough District Council: Reserve Management Plan Review Process
  • Hastings District Council: District Wide Reserve Management Plan (see page 3 for plan preparation process)
  • Queenstown Lakes District Council: Reserve Management Plans

For submitting on general Council plans, as opposed to reserve management plans, see this page by Quality Planning:

Submissions on a plan

Health and safety templates

To get examples of health and safety templates, please email hui member Ric Balfour: ricbalfour@gmail.com (thanks Ric!) so he can discuss and share some with you.

DOC responds to your questions

Our hui on 6 Feb 2023 raised a number of questions for the Department of Conservation (DOC). Steve Sutton responds:

DOC responses to Track and Trail Hui questions

DOC's CMS partial reviews around cycling were mentioned at our latest hui, so we'll follow up with DOC again.

We've invited DOC to have a regular forum with hui members and hope to have one of its staff back to present next year.
