“Alberta should be the place where the world’s energy future comes to audition."

Our energy industry and energy systems are in the midst of fundamental changes. Now is the time when we must envision both Canada and Alberta’s energy future. We need new ideas, more collaboration, and more engagement to develop a new energy future for Alberta.

To help embrace this shift, the Calgary Chamber and Energy Futures Lab are proud to announce the selection of Chamber Policy Director, Justin Smith, to the Energy Futures Lab Fellowship. He will be joining 39 other influential leaders from government, NGOs, industry, academia, First Nations and community groups working to lead a transition to an economically and environmentally sustainable energy system in Alberta.

New transportation regulations on their way to Calgary

New transportation regulations on their way to Calgary

Your Calgary Chamber advocated to City Council in favour of free market principles and a level playing field that would allow Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) like Uber to enter our market and be subject to reasonable regulations.

Yesterday we were pleased to see City Council take meaningful steps towards a progressive and welcoming approach to transportation regulatory reform that would allow these innovative companies to operate safely and lawfully in Calgary.

Read this article from the Calgary Herald to learn more about the regulatory framework that was approved.

Turn an out-of-stock item into a customer engagement opportunity this holiday season

Turn an out-of-stock item into a customer engagement opportunity this holiday season

If you’re a retailer, you want to make it as easy as possible for your customers to get their hands on your products. So what happens when a popular item is out of stock on your e-commerce site? How do you make sure the people who want to buy it know when it’s available again? Best Made Company, a high-end retail brand, has found a solution in email.

Rather than leave customers refreshing their browsers, when Best Made runs out of something, the item’s product page automatically allows for email signups. The customer enters their address, and when the item is back in stock, they’re notified by email. Knowing that these items are of interest to customers can help when buyers are deciding whether to explore a product line further.

Read this case study about one company that turned an out-of-stock item into an opportunity to engage with customers.
