On Aug. 1, penalties issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for regulation infractions will rise by up to 150% depending on the type of violation.

OSHA intends to provide guidance on the implementation of the new penalties by Aug. 1 and will issue revisions to its Field Operations Manual. Additionally, to address the impact it may have on small businesses, the agency plans to continue providing penalty reductions based on employer size and other factors. BATC is now accepting applications for 16 students to enroll and participate in the next BATC Leadership Institute series – starting this September. The Leadership Institute is aimed at up-and-coming leaders within BATC member companies. Applications are being accepted through July 18.
