Australian Digital Health Agency releases new National Digital Health Strategy

Following a thorough consultation process, the newly developed National Digital Health Strategy was released in early August 2017. The underlying message is that digital information can transform the quality and sustainability of health and care in Australia.

Barcoding and scanning technologies to improve medication safety in hospitals

Studies indicate that the use of scanning technologies in hospital medication management processes can reduce errors, potential harm to patients and costs to the health system. This paper released by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare explores some of these opportunities.

Healthcare Provider Advisory Council (HPAC) webinars  

Each month GS1 hosts webinars featuring leaders from hospitals around the world talking about how they have implemented standards to enable safety, efficiency or other key improvements to how they deliver care to their patients.

The next will be on Wednesday 13 September 2017 featuring Tom Pereboom, Manager CSSD MC Groep; President Sterilization Association of The Netherlands; Chair Working group (Dutch) Ministry of Health for the ADC.
