Dear Graduate Students,

Next week’s election is an important moment for your future and the graduate experience at Pitt. As you know, we do not believe a union is in the best interest of our graduate students, but regardless of whether you share our skepticism, we want you to vote.

Have you made a plan to vote next week?

Election Information

Where do I vote?
You can vote at two locations on campus from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

April 15–16: Posvar Hall, Room 2501
April 17–18: O’Hara Student Center, Second Floor Ballroom

Do I need my ID?
Yes. The Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board may ask students to show identification when voting. Your student ID will work.

Can international students vote?
Yes! Like all of the eligible students who call Pitt home, international students are encouraged to vote.

Will anyone know how I voted?
No! Your ballot is secret and cannot be reviewed by the United Steelworkers or the University.

Are you providing shuttles to the polls?
Yes! We’re increasing shuttles and creating special routes to help all of our graduates students vote. You can get more details on our website.

Remember: a simple majority will decide the election, no matter how many students vote. If a union is elected, you cannot opt out and the terms of your appointment will be negotiated by the United Steelworkers.
